Meet the team who are shaping our firm
















Michael is the Managing Partner of Kreston Stanley Williamson (KrestonSW) and head of the Business Services division of the firm. In addition to this he also has a heavy involvement in the Taxation division.
Joined KrestonSW in 1984. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and became a partner of the firm in 1990. He has been managing partner of the firm since Bill Stanley retired in 2014.
SPECIALIST AREAS:
Expertise in business structuring, commercial transactions, capital gains tax, small business concessions, superannuation and management accounting, and all levels of tax legislation for small to medium size business.
Being in business, and dealing with businesses, for over 35 years has helped develop deep business acumen and business skills that can solve most business or commercial problems. Being in business for that long pretty much means Michael has seen it all! As Michael is the Managing Partner, he spends a fair amount of time on running KrestonSW as well.
Has worked on clients in many industries and has extensive experience in professional and financial services, manufacturing, software and advertising and media industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Business;
- Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand;
- Fellow of The Taxation Institute of Australia;
- Justice of the Peace;
- Registered Company Auditor;
- Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor; and,
- Served on various not-for-profit and community boards.
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS SPARE TIME?
Michael spends most of his spare time in activities related to his family. With a wife, Sharon, and 4 children (3 sons and a daughter) he enjoys watching (and coaching in the past) his various children’s sporting activities. As a former first-grade player for West Harbour RUFC until 1993, you may also see him watching rugby union. Has a love of most sports.
Going forward, travel is high on the priority list now the kids are older, with many adventures planned over the next decade.
Oh…and he’s still dreaming of becoming a professional golfer.



Darren is the head of the Taxation division of Kreston Stanley Williamson (KrestonSW) including managing all international and cross border taxation.
Joined KrestonSW in 2002. Became a partner the following year. Started out in the industry in Wagga Wagga in 1990. Prior to joining KrestonSW, Darren had experience at various firms including a large mid-tier national firm.
SPECIALIST AREAS:
Being a Master of Tax, Darren provides high-level tax advice to all levels of businesses.
He looks after international tax matters, working closely with our Kreston International members across the world, to ensure clients get the best worldwide tax results.
Helping small to medium business with accounting, taxation, and other business needs – including structuring, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
Industry experience includes property and construction, primary production, trades, not for profits, professional sports, and professional and legal services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Taxation;
- Bachelor of Business;
- Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand;
- Fellow of The Taxation Institute of Australia; and,
- Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor.
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS SPARE TIME?
With his wife, Christine, often chasing one or more of their seven grandchildren around the house, park, or playground, keeping a close eye on his beloved Hawks during the AFL season, or relaxing with his Kindle.



Quang is the head of both the Management Accounting and Bookkeeping divisions at Kreston Stanley Williamson (KrestonSW), as well as being heavily involved with the Taxation division.
Having joining KrestonSW in 2002 and becoming partner in 2009, he has over 20 years’ of accounting experience servicing clients both domestically and internationally. Prior to KrestonSW, he started his career at a mid-tier firm in Sydney.
SPECIALIST AREAS:
Quang heads up the bookkeeping team and oversees the management accounting divisions of KrestonSW. He is always on top of all the developments and key changes in those areas. His main areas of interest include capital gains tax and salary packaging, with a keen focus on business structuring, financial modelling and small business taxation.
He’s been involved in many commercial transactions and, with his law background, is able to provide practical solutions in all commercial negotiations that require both an accounting and law perspective.
Industry experience includes the medical, professional services, software and IT industries, as well as dentistry, building and construction, media, and retail industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Combined Bachelor Degrees in Commerce (Accounting) and Law;
- Member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand;
- Fellow of The Taxation Institute of Australia;
- Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor; and,
- Justice of the Peace.
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS SPARE TIME?
He enjoys keeping fit and spending quality time with his wife, Ramona, son Kaiser, and daughter Seraphina. Outside of work, you can find him at a beach during Summer, otherwise he is kept well-occupied either as a handyman around the home or as an Uber driver chauffeuring his children to their training and various sporting activities across Sydney.



Kamal is the head of Audit & Assurance and Transaction Advisory Services at Kreston Stanley Williamson (KrestonSW).
Having joined KrestonSW in 2017, he became a partner in 2018. Prior to joining KrestonSW, Kamal was a Partner in a boutique Sydney based firm and Principal at a Top 5 global firm. Kamal has been in the accounting industry since 1997 and moved from London to Sydney in 2005.
SPECIALIST AREAS:
Audit & assurance services including statutory audits, agreed upon procedures engagements, internal audit, financial reporting (including preparation of listed company financial reports), and other assurance services.
Transaction advisory services including valuations, acquisition and vendor due diligence, investigative accountant’s reports for IPOs, preparation of proforma financial information. Kamal has significant experience with listed public companies, not for profits and large private companies through to international groups.
His clients are from a diverse cross-section of industries and therefore his significant industry experience includes mining, technology, financial services, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and entertainment & media sectors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Company Auditor;
- Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales;
- Member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand;
- Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; and,
- BSc (Eng) degree in Electronic Engineering with Management (King’s College, London).
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS SPARE TIME?
Producing music, keeping fit, playing sports and, importantly, spending time with his son, who also loves music, sport and other outdoor activities.



Ben is a partner of Kreston Stanley Williamson (KrestonSW) with a cross section of skills in the Taxation, Business Services and Audit and Assurance division.
Having joined KrestonSW in 1996, he became a partner in 2003. Ben has been in the accounting industry since 1995, after starting his career in a mid-tier firm in Armidale.
SPECIALIST AREAS:
Business advisory, tax, accounting and business services. Auditing and assurance with experience in all levels of private companies as well as trust accounts and financial licence audits. Special interest in IT and attends to most internal IT improvements.
Industry experience includes advertising and media, professional services, software and IT and hotels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Financial Administration;
- Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand;
- Member of the Taxation Institute of Australia;
- Justice of the Peace; and,
- Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor.
WHAT DOES HE DO IN HIS SPARE TIME?
Getting out and about as much as possible with his wife, Kylie, and two daughters. If at home, I enjoy fixing up the house and garden. I am also interested in technology and computers, so you’ll find me researching and tinkering when I have the time.
